Rogue Sriracha Stout is a spicy stout enriched with dark malts and a tangy spice that tastes exactly like Sriracha sauce. When Sriracha Stout was released, I was in a Sriracha phase…every food that I cooked incorporated an ingredient spiced with Sriracha. As soon as I could, I pre-ordered the beer from Rogue’s website. The shipping is quite expensive, but I had to get my hands on this beer!
Sriracha Stout pours a dark black hue with a foamy tan head. The aroma consists of spicy notes of peppery madness. The taste is very similar…you get an abundance of Sriracha flavor that offsets the sweet profile of the stout. Each sip gets tougher and tougher to handle. At first, I really enjoyed the flavor and was blown away that Rogue even pulled off this crazy idea of a beer. But the 22 oz. bomber kept me drinking and drinking until I couldn’t take the flavors any more. This is an awesome beer….but I could only handle one.
