Woodchuck Private Reserve Pumpkin

Brewer Description

Every once in a while you know you stumble upon something glorious. That something just so happens to be our Private Reserve Pumpkin. We have combined our signature taste with a refreshing pumpkin finish. Limited to just two and half hours on the production line this is a true connoisseur’s cider.

After hearing good remarks about Woodchuck’s Pumpkin Cider, I have been searching near and far for it. This is the third year for the Private Reserve seasonal, and everyone is raving about it. Now that I have tried it, I wouldn’t say it is as amazing as what I’ve heard, but it is one of Woodchuck’s better flavored ciders.

Woodchuck’s version resembles closely to Ace’s Hard Pumpkin Cider…the only difference is that everyone who tried Woodchuck’s liked Ace’s version better. Perhaps because Ace’s version contains the fall spices of Cinnamon and Allspice that everyone loves and Woodchuck’s Pumpkin doesn’t.

Woodchuck Pumpkin emphasizes on the pumpkin flavor which combines wonderfully with the taste of apple. I enjoyed this because the spices weren’t there and I can focus more on the flavor at hand.

It pours a dark copper color with a strong aroma of crisp, sweet apples. The taste is a crisp apple cider with a mix of baked pumpkin. The combination of Apple and Pumpkin flavors go great together…and without any spice, I’m impressed that Woodchuck pulled this one off.

Overall, this is a refreshing cider that goes down smooth with an interesting pumpkin flavor in the mix. Although it is a tasty treat, I could have lived without it. And for $10.99 for a six pack, its not worth the price.

What do think..Woodchuck Pumpkin or Ace’s??
